There's no issues I found plugging in both while charging or not. The firmware update for BCD436HP, BCD536HP, SDS200, and SDS100 scanners are done with the Sentinel software. The Sentinel update to 2.03 went fine and now has the new tuning steps for custom searches, but I don't have any need for them. I've never had the computer try to install a new driver in the many times I've disconnected the scanner and reconnected it, (except on the original install). 1. NXDN Conventional works great. 2. If you type a lower-case ASCII charactor from a limited set (dhlmoqrwz), several lines of formatted ASCII numbers are sent from the scanner. This looks like engineering debugging output rather than a customer feature. The sub-processor appears to be a NXP LPC4370.Without the lock symbol printed next to the power button it could cause a lot of confusion when the keypad stopped responding after being locked. I ran the SDS100 alongside the IC R30 for three hours yesterday in my office. The IC-R30 far outperformed the SDS100 and rarely stopped, opened squelch without good clear voice traffic. On noisy or poor voice traffic some were unintelligible on the SDS100, the IC-R30 still had impressive clear audio.
