I have been an Xfinity customer in Baltimore for a while now, we have always only had 2 TVs in the house. Our main living room has the traditional larger TV box, while in our spare room we have a smaller TV box receiver.XRE-00071 and XRE-00294. Same issue other people have had. This is the second box I have tried, and I have connected boxes that work to the same cable. Online support says this box is showing active status. This thread is archived. When hooking up last non DVR, got the XRE message. 3 trips to chat support re-established all 5 tv's for a short period, then one tv with a non DVR would revert to the XRE message. The box I thought was a DVR is a XG2V2-P. The XRE00002 message is generated by the Xfinity box- meaning the issue is with Comcast or their equipment. The only thing on a user level you can try is to unplug the power cord from the back of the Xfinity box for 30 seconds- and then plug it back in to fully reboot the box.I have the same issue.
