That said, no way would I want one. The thing is a joke the way its put together. The intake boot is held on with a piece of wire for gods sake and the carb has rubber doughnuts on it to keep it from flopping around.Husky 550XP is a good saw but Husqvarna is having issues with supplying parts. Echo makes a good saw as well, believe the 4910 is still available but that saw really needs muffler work to realize it's full potential. The echos are hard to beat for the price. Not the fastest but dead reliable and easy starting.Farmville, VA. Jul 24, 2016. #3. The knob is for the Power Sharp option, a special chain is required. The fuel lines on those are long and routed through the handle, replace the line and filter and rebuild the carb. Also check the air filter, they are foam and known to desintegrate.

Nov 26, 2009 · Feb 1, 2017. #1. finally got around to spending a day and a tank of fuel with my "new" 2015 makita 6100P chainsaw. my first impressions are very favorable , the saw is very well made and logically laid out-- starts in one or two pulls , it even started on two pulls after i flooded it. three non "pro" things about this saw as it comes new--. ArboristSite Operative. I’m using 20” .404 semi chisel Archer chain for personal firewood use and it holds up well. It seems to stretch a very small amount at first but I only tighten the chain once from new then it seems to be all good. Very good for cross cutting firewood at a very reasonable price [emoji1303]

With the cylinder off, I put the plug back in, turned the cylinder upside down and balanced it on a screwdriver handle. Okay, in the market for a chainsaw and want a Stihl due to closeness of dealer and past good luck with brand (trimmer / blower). Have it narrowed down to: Ms270 MS280 MS290 MS310 260 I realize this is a wide range, but only reason I lean away from the 290 and 310 is the weight. I plan to cut about 7 cords a year for home heat. Stay away from Ebay though--prices are generally just too high. Depending on what you're looking to spend you might want to see if you can land a husky 350 refurb from a dealer.
